Humans are directing duo Thom Whitaker and Danielle Outhwaite Noël. Their wry sense of humour, impeccable eye for craft and intuitive sense for ideas that will break into mainstream culture has earned them a reputation as two of the most exciting new directors around.
Their video for grime legend D Double E was selected by BUG, the BFI’s showcase of global creativity in music videos and Promo News named it one of the best comedy videos of the year. Commercially they’ve been working on both sides of the Atlantic, shooting a Gregory Crewsdon inspired spot for Bosch, and a brand campaign for Cash App featuring sports mega stars Serena Williams and Odell Beckham Jnr.
Before joining Riff Raff the pair spent 8 years as creative directors at Mother where their unique blend of humour and conceptual voodoo made them two of the industry’s most highly-awarded creatives, with spots like Playin’ With My Friends and Silence the Critics for IKEA picking up 5 Cannes Lions, 8 D&AD pencils, 5 British Arrows and 10 Creative Circles.
Humans are based in London and have four eyes, two brains and an undisclosed number of toes.
